Notes taken over the entire HIS 289 course, from day one to the final exam review. The course description is as follows: Survey of 19th-century Europe from the French Revolution to World War I, focusing on political and cultural history. The professor was Dominic K. Reill and she emphasized that the course was on the "long Nineteenth-century".

Industrial revolution and labor, lecture goes more into what it means to be a state/nation as well. The Biedermeier Era and its connotations, as well as the art depicting this era. Liberalism, conservatism, socialism-- what do these things mean in terms of how we organize our lives? Goes into taxes briefly.

Overview of Imperial France in the 19th Century. Infrastructure, Napoleon III, and territories lost during the Franco-Prussian war, as well as the effects and implications on the French from that loss.

November course notes, topics include: LLP, REC (Recognized Environmental Condition), Innocent Landowner, AAI, Phase I Reports (steps, process, etc.), Activity and Use Limitations (AUL), De Minimus, site inspections, maps, reporting, and due diligence. Overview of Environmental Consulting (definition, what the job entails, kind of environmental services they are involved with). History of ecological events prompting the need for environmental legislation, including forming of the EPA. Early Environmental Assessments on sites.

Notes on the specifics of environmental hazards, discussing the different types of "Chemicals of Concern" and listing them as presented in the lecture. Talking about "Maximum Containment Levels" and the different types of hazards/chemicals of concern produced by different kinds of Industrial and Commercial activities (which concerns arise from which activity, like laundry or paper-making, etc.) Major concerns in different industries in terms of environmental hazards and releases. Extensive notes on the French Revolution, and its effects and relations to government. The French Revolution's effects abroad and on other European nations. Declaration of the Rights of Man, the meaning behind the tricolor flag(s), difference that came about which separated the people from the King, and how nationalism relates to these themes/events.

Final lecture of the course, notes to wrap up the key takeaways from German and Italian Unification. Differences between the nations and how they became "Empire" and "Kingdom" respectively. Brief notes on the Second Industrial Revolution as well.
