Serena's Studies

This is a speech I wrote and gave at a pageant earlier this year, It was received well, checked by an AP language and composition teacher and also by a writing center, and was well liked. This is an example of an effective speech for an acceptance or a competitive based program and can be used to model other speeches after.

AP Language and Composition practice paper, it is a short paragraph written on the concept of anger to demonstrate creative writing and practice description skills. Includes the definition of anger and shows what that may look like. Was an assignment for an AP Language and Composition class as part of our preparation for the AP exam. For reference I received an A on this assignment and scored a 4 on the AP examination.

Chemistry 100 background notes, covers the electronegativity scale and the values at which compounds are nonpolar covalent, polar covalent, or ionic. Also includes a color coded periodic table indicating the metals, nonmetals, alkalines. etc. Third page covers basic polarity terms and knowledge from a crash course video by John Green, it discusses dipoles and how electronegativity relates to polarity.

Quote Analysis and brief summarization of Civil Disobedience Essay by Henry David Thoreau, focuses on civil justice and ways to disobey indirectly and nonviolently. Intended use is for evidence on the AP Language or AP Literature exam FRQs however it could be used in book reports or any other form of novel knowledge.

AP Language and Composition Ambition Analysis Book Chart, includes an example of the ambitious action or decision, an analysis of the long term consequences of the action, and a current application of what readers can learn from reading this story. It follows some of the main themes in the book and capitalizes on ambition, intended for AP Language and Composition or AP Literature Exam, can be used as evidence for the FRQ sections. Good book analysis.

Analysis of 9 quotes and brief summary for each, intended to be used to study for AP Lang Exam Free response questions. Book used was Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs, a memoir.

AP literature and composition term flashcards covering poetry, setting, and plot as well as a Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving book analysis with quotes, very helpful for passing FRQ's and practicing for AP exam questions.
