The ISO 9000 contains seven quality management principles that will be applied to Heartlands hospitals to see how currently act to improve the quality of patient healthcare. This framework will also be used to recommend areas where Heartlands can improve the quality of patient care. These principles are customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence based decision making and relationship management (ISO, 2015).
