Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Biology

This is a complete set of notes for the second half of the module, which when I took it was taught by Neil Thomas. I achieved a 2.1 in the exam using these notes. Topics include antibacterial agents, beta-lactam antibiotics, the biological membrane, DNA as a target for drug action, drug metabolism and drug delivery, anti-viral agents, HIV and AIDS and there are some definitions at the end.

Topics include the structure of the cell, the structure and synthesis of proteins, transcription, RNA processing and epigenetics, DNA replication and the cell cycle, the biology of cancer and the mechanism of action of antibiotics.
